A key is missing or was not returned
KeyHive can rekey compatible locks so the missing key no longer opens the selected doors while unrelated openings remain unchanged. Former employee, manager, contractor, vendor, or tenant keys can be made to stop operating the locks that are rekeyed. After an eviction or foreclosure, KeyHive provides locksmith service only after lawful possession has returned to the owner or manager. KeyHive does not decide possession or remove occupants.
A business or interior office is locked
KeyHive provides entry service for many standard keyed store, office, suite, warehouse, and storage room doors. A locked interior office on a metal door can be an entry request even when the exterior business doors operate normally. If the only warehouse or store key is gone, opening the door and creating a new usable key may involve separate service steps depending on the cylinder and lock.
The doors open, but the removable cores cannot be taken out
Some commercial locks use small format interchangeable cores (SFIC), removable cores that stay inside the surrounding lock hardware. A control key is the separate key used to release and reinstall a compatible core. The everyday key can continue to open the door while the control key handles core removal. KeyHive provides replacement control-key and selected core service. The existing core, keyway, remaining keys or records, and condition determine how the system is matched.
Several doors need different levels of access
Several compatible cylinders can share one key while offices, storage rooms, units, or management doors remain separate. A broader key arrangement can give management access across selected openings without making every door identical. Control-key access remains a different decision: it determines who can remove compatible cores, not which rooms an everyday key or master key opens.
One opening does not match the others
A different cylinder, keyway, core format, or earlier hardware change can leave one door outside the property’s main key arrangement. KeyHive can identify whether the opening can join the existing system or needs a separate component or key plan.
Door access and core removal are separate
A property can have keys that open every assigned door and still lack the control key used to remove its interchangeable cores. Change keys and master keys provide ordinary access at different levels. The control key serves the separate core-removal function.
The property can keep its current door-key arrangement while restoring core-removal access, or change only the openings that actually need attention.

Address a core that does not release normally

A storefront cylinder or front door needs attention
Glass storefront doors often use mortise cylinders and narrow-stile hardware that should be identified before a replacement is selected. If the latch misses the strike, the door may drift open or move when wind reaches it. The latch, strike, cylinder, fasteners, door position, or another component may be involved. A spinning mortise cylinder or a key that only turns sometimes points to a mechanical problem, not merely a need for more key copies.
Several openings need different results
A building can need rekeying on some doors, interchangeable-core service on another group, and repair on a separate opening during the same visit. The key plan and the hardware condition should be handled separately.
Commercial lock families solve different door problems
Schlage ND and SARGENT 10 Line are commercial cylindrical lock families. Schlage L and SARGENT 8200 are mortise lock families. Schlage CO-Series and AD-Series are commercial electronic families. SARGENT 80 Series hardware is an exit-device family. The lock format, door preparation, function, keyway, and condition determine the service.
Mechanical keys and electronic access can meet at the same opening
An SFIC core can serve as the mechanical key override on hardware that also uses cards, badges, keypads, or electronic readers.
