Standard house and business key copies
Need another copy of a standard house or business key? KeyHive duplicates many common mechanical keys from an existing usable key and checks the new copy for proper operation when possible.
- Bring the existing usable key that should be copied. A worn, bent, cracked, or poorly operating key may need to be evaluated before another copy is made.
- The key, keyway, lock, and number of copies needed determine whether the request fits mobile duplication service.
Copying, originating, and rekeying solve different problems
- Copying starts from an existing usable key and creates another key for the same compatible lock.
- If no usable key remains, the lock may require key origination, rekeying, replacement, or another service instead of duplication.
- If an old or unreturned key should stop working, rekeying changes which keys operate the compatible lock. Making another copy does not remove access from earlier keys.
Identify the key and property before service
- Share whether the key operates a house, rental, office, store, suite, warehouse, storage room, or another property lock.
- Some keys, keyways, and managed systems have copying restrictions or require a specific provider. The exact key and lock determine what can be duplicated.
